Internal Audit - Energy & Utility - Associate Director

Role purpose

Key responsibilities

• Lead consulting engagements spanning power, water, oil and gas, renewables, transmission and distribution, and related infrastructure.
• Help leadership build a long-term vision and strategy for business growth.
• Assess and redesign asset management, maintenance, project controls, procurement, contracting, HSE, plant operations, outage management, supply chain, commercial operations, customer service and regulatory reporting.
• Support operating models, policies, procedures, SOPs, authority matrices, dashboards and governance frameworks aligned with regulations and leading practices.
• Conduct maturity and gap assessments, benchmarking, control reviews and cost optimization reviews; translate findings into roadmaps and actionable recommendations.
• Manage client relationships, project budgets and finances, coaching and resources across a portfolio of clients.
• Create, review and deliver complex client deliverables, including executive reports and detailed documentation.
• Collaborate with Risk and Governance, Technology Consulting, Data & Digital and other service lines; build productive client and colleague relationships.
• Develop business opportunities and promote Protiviti's regional brand.

Experience and qualifications

• Engineer qualification; MBA preferred.
• 15+ years of consulting experience, especially with a technical background; Big Four or equivalent experience preferred.
• Proven track record in the stated Energy & Utilities domains and exceptional knowledge of sector processes and supporting tools.
• Experience delivering projects across assessment, design and implementation support.
• Ability to identify key issues and risks and recommend solutions.
• Project management skills including client management, budgeting, finance management, coaching and resource management.

Work location

• Primarily based in the Dubai or Abu Dhabi office, serving local clients and working with Middle Region colleagues.
• Travel or work in other locations may be required.
