Internship Overview

Paid internship in Data Center Critical Facility Operations with Sydney positions.

Opportunity to work in one of the largest data centers in Australia.

Immersive and impactful internship designed to kick start an Engineering career.

Interns are assigned a project and work directly with teams to gain real-work experience.

What You Will Do

  • Shadow Facility Engineers when attending to maintenance and walkthroughs in the data center.
  • Work on assigned projects that have real business impact to Equinix.
  • Participate in an internship finale presentation to share work and ideas with the leadership team.
  • Attend company-wide events and meetings to learn from leaders and build a network.

Program Eligibility

  • Studying an Engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics.
  • Be available from December 2026 to April 2027 inclusive.
  • Open to university students in their final year or recent graduates from the 2026 cohort.
  • Must be able to clear Government Baseline clearance requirements.
  • Located in Sydney and able to attend the internship in person.
  • Prior experience in Electrical generation/distribution, Cooling systems or Industrial automation-related school project or work exposure will have advantage.

Schedule

  • Flexible internship schedule with a combined option of full-time during breaks and part-time during academic period.
  • Ideal candidate should be ready to start the internship in December 2026.

  • Mentored and coached by managers, subject experts, an assigned dedicated buddy, and a formal mentor.
  • Treated as an employee and able to attend company-wide events.
  • Recognition through an internship finale presentation.
