Experience:

  • Previous applicable intern, co-op, part-time, apprenticeship, academic, or personal project experience is preferred.
  • Experience programming in Python is preferred.
  • Academic or hands-on project experience with Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, or machine learning is preferred.
  • Exposure to technologies such as LangChain, LangGraph, Strands, Amazon Bedrock, RAG, vector databases, or similar AI technologies is a plus.
  • Experience developing APIs, cloud applications, or software integrations is a plus.
  • Competencies:
  • Strong interest in AI, Generative AI, and autonomous/agentic software systems.
  • High learning agility with the ability to quickly experiment with and evaluate emerging AI technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to design, implement, test, and document software solutions.
  • Strong communication skills including technical writing, listening, and speaking.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and drive project completion.
  • Independent thinking and the ability to work within a team is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to rapidly evolving technologies.

  • The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $27- $32 USD hourly
  • The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
