Position summary

Build and harden Trulioo's Agentic AI Verification capabilities, taking agent-based verification workflows from proof of concept to production-grade systems.

Design agent-behavior tests and evaluation checks, contribute to agent data pipelines, and partner with Product and senior engineers to ship features.

Full-time, permanent role based in the Vancouver or San Diego office, with three days per week in-office.

Engineering responsibilities

  • Build and ship agent capabilities, including Vertex AI-based Discovery Agents, from design through production; own implementation, testing, and deployment for an assigned area of the SDLC.
  • Harden proof-of-concept agent code with production-grade error handling, observability, and testing, considering cost and latency.
  • Design test cases and evaluation checks for non-deterministic agent behavior.
  • Build and maintain agent data ingestion and pipelines using AWS and big-data tooling.
  • Partner with Product and senior engineers to turn business requirements into shipped features.
  • Contribute to production monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
  • Use AI and emerging technologies to improve productivity and workflows while ensuring responsible, secure, compliant use.
  • Use AI coding assistants routinely and review and verify generated output before shipping.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 2–4 years of software engineering or development experience.
  • Self-starter comfortable with ambiguity; clear communicator and collaborator with senior engineers.
  • Strong Python and/or another backend language foundation, with ability to write clean, readable, testable code.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases and basic API design, REST at minimum.
  • Experience with AWS and exposure to data pipeline tools such as PySpark or Airflow.
  • Routine use of AI coding assistants and at least one LLM project involving tool/function calls, chained steps, or multi-step coordination.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to orchestration or big-data tools such as Apache Airflow, Dagster, Spark, Presto/Trino, or Hive.
  • Exposure to infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform or AWS CDK.
  • Interest or coursework in identity verification, fraud, security, or fintech.

Work arrangement

  • Hybrid model with staff typically working three days per week at a hub location.
  • This position is based in the Vancouver or San Diego office.

Compensation

  • Compensation range is $100,000–$130,000; no pay cadence is specified.

Benefits and workplace culture

  • Full-time permanent employees receive health, dental, and vision coverage, retirement plans with company match, paid time off, parental leave, and an annual education and training stipend equivalent to $1,000 in local currency; benefits may vary by location.
  • Wellness workshops and events, a complimentary Headspace subscription, employee resource groups, and office amenities are offered; details may vary by location.

Interview process

  • Recruiter interview: 30 minutes; hiring manager interview: 60 minutes; panel interview: 60 minutes; final leadership interview: 30–45 minutes.
