  • Review shop drawings, material submissions, samples, fabrication details, and method statements for design-intent compliance.
  • Manage samples and mock-ups, including First Article inspections, to set approved benchmarks before bulk production.
  • Inspect factory fabrication and site installation for approved materials, finishes, accuracy, consistency, and workmanship.
  • Coordinate themed and interior elements with architecture, MEP, lighting, AV, show systems, and the Design Intent Management team.
  • Support inspections, snagging, and corrective actions; monitor progress and flag schedule or quality risks.
  • Develop construction document drawings and prepare designs using project specifications, codes, and discipline instructions.
  • Maintain project approvals, samples, inspection records, and corrective-action logs; communicate with contractors, consultants, and clients.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of professional interior design experience, with expertise in themed environments, hospitality, or entertainment design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and design visualisation tools; strong knowledge of interior finishes, materials, and fabrication processes.
  • Experience managing shop drawings, material submissions, and First Article inspections.
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including architecture, MEP, lighting, and AV.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality assurance, and workmanship standards; strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to interpret and apply building codes, design standards, and specifications; experience with inspections, snagging, and corrective actions.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in themed entertainment, hospitality, or luxury retail environments.
  • Knowledge of colour theory, texture, finish consistency, vendor management, procurement, construction documentation, or design intent management.
  • Project management certification or equivalent experience; understanding of lighting interfaces and AV integration.
  • Track record managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and tight timelines.

Workplace

  • The stated work location model is on-site.
  • New hires are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.

Benefits and workplace offering
