Industrial Mechanic - Food Manufacturing Environment

Under the guidence of the maintenance lead and mananger, the mechanic will repairs, lube, trouble shoots, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment.

Assist in the fabrication and installation of new equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.)

• Monitors mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate potential problem areas in support of the Preventive Maintenance Program.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment that becomes faulty.
• Proficiency in the safe and proper use of tools to accomplish cutting, drilling, grinding, treading, welding, assembling, and other activities performed by the maintenance department.
• Proficiency in mechanical procedures of equipment installation.
• Sets up and operates lath, drill press, grinders and other metal working tools to make repair parts.
• Accomplish all other maintenance related activities as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor and/or Shift Supervisor.
• Complies with and participates in Plant Accident Prevention Program.
