Hydrotesting Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise hydrostatic testing of piping systems.
• Prepare and review procedures, method statements, test packages, and inspection checklists.
• Ensure testing follows project specifications, approved procedures, and applicable international standards.
• Coordinate with construction, QA/QC, HSE, and client representatives on testing and inspections.
• Verify test pressure calculations, test boundaries, piping configurations, and equipment readiness.
• Ensure gauges, test manifolds, pumps, and safety equipment are installed and calibrated properly.
• Monitor testing, resolve technical issues, prepare reports and completion records, and enforce project safety requirements.

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• At least 5 years of relevant mechanical piping and hydrotesting experience is required.
• GCC project experience is mandatory.
• Oil and gas, desalination, industrial piping, or EPC project experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hydrostatic testing procedures, pressure testing equipment, and piping systems is required.
• Familiarity with ASME B31.3, applicable testing standards, and QA/QC documentation is requested.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and technical specifications is required.
• Good English communication skills are required.
• Candidates in Qatar who can join immediately or at short notice are preferred.

Salary and benefits

• Monthly salary is QAR 4,000–6,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and interview assessment.
