Key tasks and responsibilities

• Develop and administer a proactive incident-prevention program and support compliance with applicable environmental, safety, and health regulations.
• Implement the HSES activity plan and ensure scheduled activities are completed.
• Assist with incident investigations and report compilation; assist with medical evacuations and respond to emergencies as required.
• Inspect work areas for unsafe acts or conditions and evaluate equipment, structures, and work in progress for compliance with applicable standards and codes.
• Observe work groups and provide safe-work guidance and coaching.
• Assist in delivering and observing toolbox talks and Job Safety Analyses.
• Observe plant and equipment condition and report deficiencies.

Essential qualifications and education

• Diploma or equivalent certification and 2–3 years of relevant experience.
• Maintain competencies associated with the HSES function and have experience with technical activities, including onshore and offshore operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and good oral and written communication skills.
• Exposure to incident investigation and analysis software is preferred.
• Able to work independently with minimal guidance and apply knowledge to standard and nonstandard situations.
• Able to use best practices and business knowledge to improve products or services in the discipline.
• Proven experience promoting teamwork, coaching, and guiding others.
