HSE responsibilities
- Prevent injury to personnel and damage to plant and equipment, and improve existing safe working methods.
- Advise on applicable safety, health, welfare, and environmental requirements and protective clothing and equipment.
- Review potential hazards on new contracts and site safety organization before work starts.
- Conduct site surveys with project management to verify safe work methods and compliance with regulations.
- Investigate accidents and dangerous occurrences, determine causes, and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct project and subcontractor HSE inductions and manage safety training for employees at all levels.
- Promote injury prevention and damage control; provide feedback on new policies and procedures.
- Keep current with safety codes and practices, and circulate relevant information to staff.
- Report project safety performance to the Technical Director and fulfill the Safety Officer role required by HSE procedures.
- Oversee injury, damage, and loss records and analysis; assess accident trends and project safety performance.
- Assist the Project QA Manager with environmental inspections and monitoring.
- Maintain relationships with officials and professional bodies; supervise designated Safety Officers and subordinates; support the integrated management system.
Listed qualifications
- Diploma or degree in a related field.
- Conversant with relevant government codes and practices and safety risks.
- Able to investigate safety incidents and maintain a high level of safety awareness.
- Registered DOSH membership preferred.
- Construction industry experience preferred.
