Role overview

Responsibilities

• Supervise housekeeping operations across assigned rooms, floors, corridors, elevators, staircases, and service areas; allocate room attendant tasks and ensure timely cleaning.
• Inspect rooms and areas, verify room readiness and status, and coordinate clean-room release with Front Office.
• Prioritize arrival rooms, VIPs, group check-ins, and back-to-back assignments; monitor occupancy reports and resolve room-status discrepancies with Front Office.
• Prepare shift handover reports and periodic cleaning schedules; coordinate maintenance requests with Engineering and follow up on work orders.
• Ensure safe chemical and equipment handling; monitor equipment, supplies, linen, and guest supplies and coordinate replenishment.
• Support inventory counts and expense control; prepare duty rosters and staffing arrangements.
• Document Lost & Found items and report incidents, damage, security concerns, or unusual occurrences.
• Train and coach room attendants, monitor performance and training needs, and ensure professional grooming and compliance with hotel standards.
• Address guest requests and concerns; promote teamwork, follow safety and security procedures, and support housekeeping management as needed.

What the role requires

• Previous housekeeping operations experience, preferably in a supervisory or team leader role.
• Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, room inspections, cleaning techniques, hygiene, equipment, chemicals, and health and safety procedures.
• Leadership, team supervision, coaching, organization, time management, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple operational needs.
• Good verbal English communication; additional languages are an asset.
• Ability to coordinate with Front Office, Engineering, and other departments and maintain guest satisfaction.
• Ability to work under pressure and on rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• A hospitality or housekeeping diploma or certification, luxury hotel experience, and familiarity with hotel property management systems are advantages.
