Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor (Public Area)

Role overview

Housekeeping and room coordination

• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and pool areas after cleaning.
• Run sold-room reports, verify room status, identify discrepant rooms, prioritize cleaning, and update departing-room status.
• Assist housekeeping management with daily activities and coordinate housekeeping, engineering, front office, and laundry.
• Resolve room-status discrepancies with the Front Desk, communicate room-assignment changes, and hand over issues to the next shift.
• Complete required paperwork and report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.

Team and guest service

• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
• Welcome guests, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and communicate professionally with colleagues and guests.
• Follow company and safety policies, protect company assets, maintain confidentiality, and uphold quality standards.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Preferred qualifications

• Preferred education: high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Preferred related work experience: at least 1 year.
• Preferred supervisory experience: at least 1 year.
• No license or certification is listed.

Physical and work capabilities

• Move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 55 pounds without assistance and heavier objects with assistance.
• Push and pull loaded housekeeping carts and machinery over sloping or uneven surfaces; stand, sit, kneel, or walk for extended periods.
• Reach, bend, twist, pull, stoop, and handle objects requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Use computers and/or point-of-sale systems and read and visually verify information in varied formats.
