Histotechnologist I: Tuesday - Saturday (8am - 4:30pm)

Qualifications:

• Basic Qualifications:
• Candidates must meet one of the following New York State qualification pathways:
• Successful completion of a course study that meets all academic requirements for an associate's, or higher, degree in a histotechnican program from an accredited institution; or
• Associate degree or higher in a chemical, physical, or biological science from an accredited institution, plus either:
• One year of histology training and/or experience within the past five years under the supervision of an American Board of Pathology (ABP) certified anatomic pathologist, or
• Completion of at least nine months of accredited histotechnician training; or
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a chemical, physical, or biological science (including at least 30 semester hours of biology and chemistry), plus either:
• One year of histology training and/or experience within the past five years under the supervision of an ABP-certified anatomic pathologist, or
• Current licensure or equivalent qualifications recognized by New York State for Histotechnicians practicing in another state or jurisdiction.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in a biological or life science
• Certified as a Histotechnician (HT) or a Histotechnologist (HTL) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
• Strong interpersonal skills that include excellent skills in written and oral communication, collaboration, and problem solving
• Excellent computer/data entry skills
• Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Demonstrated experience handling multiple tasks at once
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with peers in a fast-paced and cross-functional results-oriented team environment
• Demonstrated experience working within tight timelines for successful execution of project and program goals
• Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor
• Ability to prioritize and thoroughly follow up on assigned tasks
• Ability to adapt to changing procedures, policies and work environment
• Ability to perform work in a lab environment in the presence of chemicals and reagents
• Understanding of HIPAA and the importance of patient data privacy

• The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Morrisville, NC is $42,400 - $53,000 per year. The salary range is commensurate with Foundation Medicines compensation practice and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for Foundation Medicine's benefits.
