Installation support
- Help technicians install air conditioners, chillers, ducting, ventilation systems, and related equipment.
- Carry tools, materials, and equipment to the worksite.
- Support duct fabrication and installation.
Maintenance and repair support
- Clean air filters, coils, and vents.
- Assist in routine inspection of HVAC systems and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Help identify faults under technician supervision.
- Assist in replacing belts, motors, and other components.
- Hold or secure parts during repair work.
Materials, preparation, and safety
- Load and unload HVAC equipment and materials.
- Prepare tools and ensure proper storage after work.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
- Use PPE, including gloves, helmet, and safety shoes.
- Follow site safety regulations and instructions.
- Assist in safe handling of refrigerants and electrical components.
Skills and requirements
- Basic knowledge of tools such as a spanner, drill, and cutter.
- Physical strength and stamina for lifting equipment.
- Willingness to learn technical skills.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Basic understanding of safety practices.
- Teamwork and a good attitude.
Work environment and supervision
- Worksites include construction sites, commercial buildings, hospitals, malls, and residential projects.
- Work may involve heights, confined spaces, and outdoor conditions.
- Usually works under an HVAC Technician or Site Engineer’s supervision.
