Heavy Equipment Operator (Airfield)

About This Role

We are currently hiring an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator (UAE Driving License Category 4) to support airside and landside operations within a dynamic airport environment. The role is critical in ensuring safe, clean, and FOD-free airfield conditions in line with aviation safety standards.

To operate designated vehicles and equipment during assigned shifts in accordance with company procedures, ensuring full compliance with airside safety, quality, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate utility vehicles, runway & road sweepers, trucks, loaders, litter vacuum machines, hydro-blasting machines, and access equipment in line with manufacturer instructions and company procedures
• Maintain airfield areas (runways, taxiways, aprons, GSE roads, car parks, tunnels, and fencing) free from FOD and debris at all times
• Ensure assigned vehicles are clean, functional, and regularly inspected; report any defects immediately
• Perform end-of-shift cleaning and ensure proper disposal of debris collected
• Present vehicles for scheduled inspection and maintain accurate vehicle service logs
• Adhere strictly to safety, security, and airside operational procedures
• Respond promptly to emergency calls when required
• Maintain checklists, logbooks, and job cards as per SOPs
• Attend training sessions and team meetings as scheduled

Specific requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid UAE Driving License (Category 4 or 8 – mandatory)
• Certification in operating heavy equipment (e.g., sweepers, hydro-blasting machines)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Airport/airfield experience is highly preferred
• Strong understanding of airside safety regulations (ramp safety knowledge is an advantage)
• Good technical/mechanical aptitude for operating and maintaining equipment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment
• Good English communication skills
• Ability to obtain/hold Airside Driving Permit (ADP – Level 4)
