Health and Safety Officer – Security

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead the security team, ensuring personnel are trained and follow procedures.
• Oversee daily operations of surveillance, access control, and alarm systems.
• Respond to security incidents and emergencies, investigate and document incidents, and take follow-up action.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems and conduct regular patrols to detect risks or breaches.
• Maintain a visible presence to ensure guest and staff safety and provide assistance.
• Lead emergency response procedures during evacuations, first-aid events, and fire drills.
• Provide on-the-job training and guidance to security personnel.
• Maintain accurate logs of security incidents and prepare regular reports for management.
• Collaborate with housekeeping, maintenance, and front desk to secure high-risk zones and special events.
• Ensure security systems function properly and report malfunctions for repair.
• Ensure compliance with local security laws, company policies, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; further qualifications in security management are a plus.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of security experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven experience leading and managing a security team.
• Ability to handle security crises with professionalism and calm.
• Strong working knowledge of CCTV, access control systems, alarm systems, and security procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Sharp attention to detail and strong follow-up on security concerns.
• Ability to analyze security situations, make quick decisions, and implement solutions.
• Physical stamina to patrol large areas and respond in demanding conditions.
• Professional, approachable, and courteous customer service demeanor.
• Competent in security technologies and basic office software such as Word and Excel.
