Supports implementation and monitoring of health, safety, and environmental practices across the workplace.
Identifies hazards, conducts inspections, promotes safe practices, and supports compliance with company HSE policies and applicable regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor daily workplace activities for compliance with HSE procedures and conduct site inspections to identify hazards.
- Assist with risk assessments and recommend control measures.
- Ensure employees and contractors follow safety procedures and use PPE and safety equipment correctly.
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and safety awareness sessions.
- Report and investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; maintain accurate HSE documentation.
- Follow up on corrective and preventive actions and support emergency preparedness, evacuations, and drills.
- Communicate safety observations to supervisors and site management; support the HSE management system and positive safety culture.
- Provide compliance updates and support internal and external HSE audits and inspections.
Role requirements
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, HSE, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a Health and Safety or HSE role.
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures, risk assessment, and hazard identification.
- Strong communication and reporting skills; ability to conduct site inspections and safety awareness sessions.
- Understanding of PPE, emergency procedures, and incident reporting.
- Relevant HSE certifications are preferred.
