Job Summary
As a Head Sommelier, you will lead the wine program and oversee all wine-related operations, ensuring an exceptional guest experience.
You will be responsible for wine selection, cellar management, supplier relationships, staff training, and providing expert wine recommendations and pairings that enhance the overall dining experience.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the restaurant’s wine list, ensuring it aligns with the concept and guest preferences
- Provide expert wine recommendations and pairings to guests
- Lead and mentor the FOH team on wine knowledge and upselling techniques
- Build and maintain strong relationships with wine suppliers and distributors
- Ensure proper wine service procedures are followed at all times
- Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities for our wine program
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience as a Head Sommelier or Senior Sommelier in a fine dining environment
- Extensive knowledge of wines, wine regions and grape varieties
- WSET Level 3 or equivalent wine qualification preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
