Responsibilities
- Develop and implement policies, supervise staff, and coordinate academic programs.
- Ensure compliance with institutional and statutory requirements.
- Manage budgets and resources and facilitate collaboration among departments.
- Promote quality assurance in teaching, research, and student services.
- Report regularly to senior university leadership and represent the unit in internal and external forums.
- Foster an inclusive, student-centered environment.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and strategic management skills, including academic administration and institutional planning experience.
- Expertise in governance, policy development, and regulatory compliance in higher education or a similar sector.
- Proficiency in budgeting, resource allocation, and financial oversight for complex organizational units.
- Strong communication, negotiation, stakeholder engagement, collaboration, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Relevant postgraduate degree, such as a Master’s or PhD, in a discipline appropriate to the unit.
- Significant experience in teaching, research, or administration.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and non-discriminatory practices in academic and workplace settings.
- Prior senior leadership experience in a university or large educational institution is highly desirable.
