Job Title: Head of Quality & Compliance – EMEA

Reports to: Global Quality and Compliance Director

Location: EMEA

The Head of Quality & Compliance – EMEA provides strategic leadership and oversight of Quality and Compliance (Q&C) across EMEA, ensuring robust governance, consistent standards, and alignment with regulatory frameworks, while driving the global accreditation strategy.

Key Responsibilities & accountabilities :-

  • Ensure high standards of assurance delivery and compliance, safeguarding BSI’s credibility, licences to operate, and impartiality requirements while acting as the EMEA regional escalation point for Q&C concerns, complaints, and breaches.
  • Support global Q&C in preparation for external accreditation and recognition assessments, overseeing timely closure of findings, reviewing/approving Corrective Action Plans, and maintaining strong relationships with accreditation and recognition bodies.
  • Drive regulatory awareness and continuous improvement by conducting horizon scanning, communicating scheme/regulatory changes, promoting best practice sharing, and ensuring effective, timely BMS updates and technical decision-making are communicated to the Assurance Business.
  • Embed global Q&C policies and strategies regionally, championing standardization, simplification, digitization, and consistent execution across Q&C processes, while collaborating with Global Lead Internal Audit on the annual audit programme.
  • Leverage data, trend and regional Scheme and Program KPIs to manage risk and performance, including analysing scheme and programme metrics, managing the regional risk profile, identifying trends, and recommending operational improvements.
  • Develop and support regional Q&C capability, ensuring staff competence through training, mentoring, cross-functional projects, and fostering a culture of compliance, collaboration, and continual improvement across all functions.

To thrive in this role, you have:-

  • In-depth knowledge of ISO/IEC 17021 and related accreditation/recognition requirements, with robust experience in Conformity Assessment at regional/global level. Background in scheme management e.g. ISO 9001/14001/45001 will be advantageous.
  • Experience in managing relationships with accreditation and regulatory bodies, leading risk management, impartiality oversight, and compliance monitoring. Previous change management and process improvement will be beneficial.
  • Strong leadership, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills, practical experience in audit techniques, CAP management and root course analysis.
  • High integrity with strong commitment in impartiality and compliance, with proactive approach in identifying risk and ability to influence/mentor the team to uphold and drive global accreditation strategies.
