About The Authors
The Authors is a hospitality company focused on creating story-driven accommodations that combine design, comfort, and memorable guest experiences.
We operate a growing portfolio of holiday homes and hospitality projects across the UAE and are seeking a leader to build and scale our Interior Design Department.
Position Summary
We are looking for a Head of Interior Design who will take full ownership of the Interior Design Department.
This individual will be responsible for leading the department, developing systems and standards, managing projects from concept to completion, and ensuring every space aligns with The Authors' vision and commercial objectives.
This role extends beyond design.
The successful candidate will play a key role in procurement, project execution, supplier management, department development, and future hospitality projects, including serviced apartments, holiday homes, hostels, and other accommodation concepts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Interior Design Department.
- Take full ownership of all interior design projects from concept to completion.
- Develop department SOPs, workflows, standards, and quality control systems.
- Create and maintain a library of design concepts, themes, materials, and suppliers.
- Oversee procurement, budgeting, and project timelines.
- Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to brand standards.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Marketing, and Management teams.
- Recruit, train, and develop future members of the department.
- Contribute to the growth of the department as a standalone business unit.
- Support the design and development of future hospitality projects, including holiday homes, hostels, and serviced accommodation concepts.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating residential, hospitality, or commercial projects.
- Experience managing projects, suppliers, and procurement.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, timelines, and project execution.
- Hospitality design experience is highly preferred.
