Company Overview

Our client, a global regulated financial services group with a strong presence across FX, CFDs, digital assets, and institutional trading, is seeking an experienced Head of Finance to lead its finance function.

The business operates across multiple international markets and combines a fast-paced trading environment with strong governance, regulatory discipline, and ambitious growth plans.

Role Overview

The Head of Finance will lead the financial management, reporting, planning, and control environment for the business.

This is a senior leadership role requiring strong experience within FX, CFDs, brokerage, trading, or wider financial services.

The successful candidate will oversee financial operations across multiple entities and jurisdictions, ensure accurate and timely reporting, strengthen financial controls, and provide commercially focused insight to senior leadership.

They will work closely with executive management, operations, compliance, legal, and external stakeholders to support profitable and sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end finance function, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax, audit, and financial controls.
  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts, statutory financial statements, and board-level reporting.
  • Develop financial plans, annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and scenario models to support business strategy and expansion.
  • Provide commercial analysis on revenue performance, trading volumes, client activity, spreads, rebates, partnerships, marketing spend, and operational costs.
  • Oversee cash flow management, liquidity planning, banking relationships, payment processes, and treasury operations across multiple entities.
  • Ensure robust financial controls, accounting policies, approval processes, reconciliations, and segregation of duties are maintained.
  • Lead the external audit process and coordinate with auditors, tax advisers, regulators, banks, and other external stakeholders.
  • Monitor financial risks, including counterparty exposure, currency exposure, liquidity, operational risks, and profitability across business lines.
  • Partner with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure financial operations remain aligned with regulatory, tax, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Support new entity setup, licensing initiatives, cross-border expansion, and financial due diligence where required.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring clear responsibilities, reporting standards, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive automation and process improvement across financial reporting, reconciliations, dashboards, and management information systems.
  • Act as a trusted finance partner to senior management, presenting clear financial insights, risks, and recommendations to support decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent qualification is strongly preferred.
  • Extensive senior finance leadership experience within FX, CFDs, brokerage, trading, banking, fintech, payments, or regulated financial services.
  • Strong understanding of the financial mechanics of an FX and CFDs brokerage, including client money, trading revenue, liquidity arrangements, rebates, commissions, and multi-entity reporting.
  • Proven experience managing financial reporting, budgets, forecasts, cash flow, treasury, audits, tax, and financial controls.
  • Experience working across multiple legal entities, currencies, jurisdictions, and regulatory environments.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience working with senior executives and presenting financial information to board or executive committee level.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to translate financial data into practical business insight and strategic recommendations.
  • Strong leadership and people-management capability, with experience building and developing finance teams.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with ERP systems, BI tools, and finance automation platforms is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, international environment.
