Job Description

Equiti is a pioneering fintech firm and world-class provider of multi-asset fintech products - from liquidity solutions to in-house tech hubs to online trading platforms.

With over 400 global specialists in 9 languages, Equiti provides clients with access to individual, professional, and institutional brokerage services in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

At Equiti, we believe that financial opportunities can unlock potential for everyone, everywhere.

We’re on a mission to deliver accessible online trading products around the world through education and accessibility.

Think finance is stuffy?

Think again.

At Equiti, we’re building fintech with a purpose: making wealth tools accessible to everyone.

As we continue to grow, we’re seeking talented individuals who thrive in innovative environments. , and we are on the lookout for talented individuals who can perform and excel in a dynamic and innovative working environment.

Our Technology department would like to welcome a detail-oriented.

Head Of Engineering Excellence

in our office in Dubai.

As the Head of Engineering Excellence, you will…

Be the force that turns Equiti’s engineering principles into everyday practice.

Reporting directly to the CTO, you will own the operating system of the technology organisation — the standards, processes, delivery cadence and metrics that keep a fast-scaling, multi-domain engineering org accountable, aligned and continuously improving.

You will be the CTO’s trusted partner for execution: making sure the right things get done, by the right owners, to the right standard — without the CTO having to chase.

You will define and enforce how the engineering org works — ways of working, communication and accountability standards, and delivery governance — and make performance visible through engineering KPIs and dashboards.

You will lead a culture of Kaizen (continuous improvement), running the cadences and retrospectives that turn data and incidents into lasting improvements across mobile, web, backend, data, platform, QA and trading teams.

You will also be Equiti’s engineering voice to the outside world — championing our work through blogs, talks and conferences, growing our presence in the developer community, and building the technical brand that draws great people to us.

Responsibilities

  • Own and enforce Equiti’s engineering principles, standards and ways of working across all technology domains.
  • Define, track and report engineering KPIs — delivery throughput and predictability, DORA metrics (deployment frequency, lead time, change-failure rate, MTTR), responsiveness/SLA attainment and quality — and turn them into action.
  • Run the engineering operating cadence: planning, delivery reviews, incident/postmortem reviews and the operations review that holds owners accountable to SLAs.
  • Drive a culture of Kaizen / continuous improvement — facilitate retrospectives, identify systemic bottlenecks, and land process improvements that stick.
  • Embed the communication & accountability framework — ownership/RACI, triage lanes, escalation and channel standards — so nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Govern cross-team delivery for major programmes and product launches; surface risks and dependencies early and unblock them.
  • Partner with domain leads to raise engineering maturity, consistency and governance — without slowing teams down.
  • Act as the CTO’s go to on execution — translate strategy into tracked outcomes, prepare leadership and board-ready updates, and ensure follow-through on decisions.
  • Champion engineering quality, change management and operational excellence in partnership with SRE / Engineering Platforms.
  • Establish lightweight tooling and dashboards (within the ticketing and observability stack) that make standards and metrics self-serve for every team.
  • Lead Equiti’s external engineering evangelism — represent the technology org through conference talks, meetups and panels, and grow our standing in the wider engineering community.
  • Own the Equiti engineering blog and technical thought leadership, and shape the engineering employer brand that helps attract and retain top talent.

Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years in software engineering, technical programme management, or engineering operations, with at least 5 years leading process or delivery excellence in scaled engineering organisations.
  • Proven track record defining and enforcing engineering principles, ways of working and delivery governance across multiple teams.
  • Deep fluency in engineering KPIs and metrics (DORA, delivery predictability, quality, reliability) and in building dashboards that change behaviour.
  • Hands-on experience leading continuous improvement / Kaizen, Agile, and incident/postmortem practices at scale.
  • Strong technical credibility — able to hold weight with senior engineers and architects — without needing to be the deepest coder in the room.
  • Exceptional influence and stakeholder management; able to enforce standards through trust and clarity, not authority alone.
  • A confident public communicator — a track record of external technical writing, conference speaking, or developer-community engagement (engineering blogs, talks, open source).
  • Experience operating as a trusted partner to a CTO or VP of Engineering (programme leadership / execution-focused role) strongly preferred.
  • Experience in fintech, brokerage, or regulated industries preferred.
  • Based in, or willing to relocate to, Dubai.

Perks

  • Each of our offices has its special perks; be it ‘no ties’, free lunches, charity events, or a hybrid work policy – but whenever you walk into an Equiti office, you’re sure to see a friendly face.
  • We encourage international collaborations and always keep our eyes open to how we can do more.
  • The benefits you can expect at your Equiti workplace include:
  • Competitive salary package
  • Performance-based bonus
  • Medical insurance coverage for employees and family members
  • Smart working options
  • Employee wellness initiatives
  • Personalized career development
  • Company lunch in the office
  • Regular company events
  • With energy, drive, and imagination, there’s no limit to where your career can go at Equiti.
  • With a diverse workforce and geographical spread of offices, we strongly support career development initiatives as well as provide a range of opportunities for professional and life experiences.
  • Equiti is an equal opportunity employer.
  • “Equiti” refers to a group of companies consisting of seven regulated financial services companies licensed to operate in the respective jurisdictions of their incorporation, in addition to our tech and marketing hubs.
  • Equiti has presence in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
