The Opportunity
We’re looking for a
Head of Automotive Protection – Middle East
to lead and grow QBE’s Automotive Protection portfolio across the region.
This role holds full accountability for strategy, profitability, underwriting oversight, partner relationships and customer propositions across Automotive Protection products.
You’ll work closely with regional and global leadership, shaping both short‑term performance and long‑term strategy, ensuring disciplined underwriting sits alongside ambitious growth.
Middle East market exposure and strong product knowledge in the region are highly desirable, as this role plays a key part in strengthening QBE’s regional presence.

Your New Role
This is a senior leadership role with genuine autonomy and influence.
You’ll shape the regional Automotive Protection strategy while building strong, trusted relationships with partners, distributors and internal stakeholders.
Success in this role comes from balancing strong technical capability with commercial curiosity, initiative and the confidence to spot and convert new growth opportunities.
You’ll lead with purpose, setting direction while empowering teams to perform at their best.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the Automotive Protection business across the Middle East, driving profitable and sustainable growth
- Develop and execute regional strategy aligned with global Automotive Protection objectives
- Oversee underwriting performance across products including Extended Warranty, GAP and related offerings
- Build and manage strong partnerships with automotive manufacturers, distributors and affinity partners
- Drive new business opportunities by proactively identifying market gaps and growth potential
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory, legal and governance frameworks across the region
- Monitor portfolio performance, using data and insight to inform decisions and improvements
- Champion best‑practice underwriting, pricing and product governance
- Collaborate closely with Distribution, Claims, Legal, Finance and Analytics teams
- Lead and inspire teams, fostering accountability, engagement and a high‑performance culture
About You
You’re a commercially minded leader who combines technical credibility with curiosity, initiative and strong relationship‑building skills.
You're comfortable owning a regional portfolio, influencing senior stakeholders and representing QBE confidently in the market.
You value collaboration and know that great results come from people who feel empowered, trusted and clear on direction.
Middle East exposure and local market understanding will help you hit the ground running, but mindset and leadership approach matter just as much.
Skills & Experience
- Technical experience within Automotive Protection or related insurance lines
- Strong Sales and new business development skills
- High impact presentation skills
- Strong internal personal skills to build relationships and trust at all levels.
- An understanding of underwriting, pricing and portfolio management
- Experience of delivering profitable growth within complex or regional markets
- Middle East market exposure and product knowledge (highly desirable)
- Strong reasoning capabilities, creative and lateral thinking with strong problem solving skills.
- Curious, proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Comfortable working across cultures, geographies and regulatory environments
- Ability to prioritise and achieve deadlines / targets.
