Head Barista
About This Role
Responsible for overseeing daily coffee operations, maintaining high beverage quality standards, training barista staff, and ensuring excellent customer service. This role combines leadership, technical coffee expertise, and operational management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coffee Preparation & Quality Control
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and beverages.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning.
- Monitor coffee extraction, grind size, and brewing techniques.
2. Team Leadership & Training
- Supervise and lead the barista team.
- Train new and existing staff on coffee preparation, recipes, and service standards.
- Schedule shifts and manage team performance.
3. Customer Service
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Handle customer feedback and resolve complaints professionally.
- Maintain a welcoming and friendly café environment.
4. Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and supplies.
- Coordinate with management for ordering and stock replenishment.
- Reduce waste and control costs.
5. Equipment Maintenance
- Ensure all coffee machines and equipment are clean and well-maintained.
- Coordinate repairs and regular servicing when required.
6. Hygiene & Safety Compliance
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with health regulations.
- Ensure staff follow food safety procedures.
7. Menu Development & Innovation
- Contribute to new beverage ideas and seasonal menu offerings.
- Stay updated on coffee trends and techniques.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Barista (minimum 2–3 years), with leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of coffee brewing methods and equipment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in barista skills or coffee training.
- Experience in specialty coffee.
- Basic knowledge of cost control and inventory systems.
Working Conditions:
- Flexible working hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Standing for extended periods.
- Fast-paced café or restaurant environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: QAR4,000.00 - QAR6,000.00 per month
