Role overview
VML seeks a Group Account Director to lead and grow its Volkswagen account as part of the Type1 team.
The role combines senior client partnership with brand strategy, social media, team leadership, and commercial account management.
What you’ll do
- Own senior client relationships, provide strategic advice, and align stakeholders around shared creative and commercial goals.
- Identify growth opportunities and develop scopes of work reflecting client and agency needs.
- Lead integrated brand campaigns and always-on social programmes rooted in consumer insight and cultural impact.
- Maintain Volkswagen brand consistency across campaign and everyday content; monitor social trends, audience behaviour, and new formats.
- Collaborate with strategy, creative, and production teams to deliver effective work.
- Lead and mentor the account team, set direction, resolve challenges, and foster an inclusive culture.
- Oversee workstream delivery, budgets, account forecasting, resources, profitability, and client-service processes.
What you’ll bring
- 8+ years of account-management experience, including significant Director-level experience within an agency.
- A proven track record leading large-scale brand and social accounts.
- Automotive, mobility, or similarly complex consumer-category experience is preferred.
