The opportunity

Early-career product management role supporting Govineer's customer-facing products for local governments.

Combines product management with hands-on product design, meaningful ownership, coaching, and exposure to the full product lifecycle.

What you will do

  • Research customers, competitors, partners, and emerging technology; share concise market intelligence with product teams.
  • Learn how local governments buy and use software and understand the needs of finance staff, utility teams, administrators, and residents.
  • Join customer conversations, organize findings, and distinguish observed needs from assumptions.
  • Map user journeys and create simple wireframes or interactive prototypes to explore solutions.
  • Help plan and run usability tests and improve flows, content, and accessibility based on findings.
  • Support discovery, product requirements, experiments, release planning, launch coordination, and measurement for customer-facing features.
  • Maintain product information, decision records, roadmaps, launch checklists, and team rituals.
  • Work with Engineering, Design, Sales, Support, and Marketing on releases and learning from customer use.
  • Explore AI improvements to real workflows and help test usefulness, quality, and trust with users.

What you bring

  • Recent degree in a relevant field or equivalent early-career experience, and strong interest in product management.
  • Evidence of initiative through an internship, project, startup, research, community effort, or product helped launch.
  • Clear writing, structured thinking, curiosity about customers, and comfort working with data.
  • Interest in product design and evidence of communicating ideas visually through coursework, a portfolio, prototype, or personal project.
  • Figma familiarity is useful but not required.
  • Ability to organize details, follow through, and ask good questions across technical and nontechnical teams.
  • Willingness to learn public-service and enterprise software; prior government technology experience is not expected.
  • Civic technology or public-service experience is a nice-to-have, not required.

What We Offer

  • Mission-driven work supporting technology and services that help local governments serve their communities.
  • Competitive compensation, health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid time off, paid holidays, and professional development support.

Work environment and travel

  • The role is remote-eligible and described as primarily office-based or remote; no single required workplace arrangement is specified.
  • Moderate travel of 15–25% annually for on-site engagements, team meetings, and company events; occasional weekend travel may be required.
  • Work involves computer use, independent work, recurring deadlines, accuracy, and regular stakeholder interaction.

Success measures

Teams gain sharper market and customer insight, early concepts become testable prototypes, and releases are coordinated and measured.

The employee grows from supporting decisions to owning a defined product problem.
