Role overview

Technical leadership

• Set technical direction for major legal technology programs and guide platform and vendor selection.
• Balance short-term delivery trade-offs with long-term capability building.
• Establish and regularly review technology and AI quality observability and health metrics.
• Lead chapter leads and specialists across software engineering and AI, SaaS engineering, quality assurance, data and L2 operations.
• Manage external vendor relationships where relevant.

Legal Portfolio partnership

• Create and deliver the portfolio's vision, strategy and outcomes.
• Align legal platforms and programs with the legal technology strategy and portfolio risk, compliance and commercial priorities.
• Monitor emerging legal technology, agentic AI and automation trends for opportunities.
• Assess the portfolio against global priorities and changing regulatory conditions and technological innovation.
• Foster collaboration across Legal, Tech, Data and business functions.
• Escalate cross-team or cross-system issues and support timely resolution.

Standards and governance

• Align legal technology with BCG's architectural roadmap and enterprise architecture principles.
• Partner with enterprise architecture, data, risk, security and compliance governance teams to support adherence to relevant standards.
