Role Overview
The experienced GIS Analyst will provide spatial intelligence for renewable energy projects across Australia.
The role supports wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver spatial analysis, mapping, and site suitability assessments for renewable energy projects.
- Identify opportunities, constraints, and risks using spatial datasets.
- Maintain geodatabases and spatial information systems.
- Create maps, reports, and visualisations for varied stakeholders.
- Develop WebGIS applications, dashboards, and mobile GIS solutions.
- Manage spatial data governance, QA/QC, and metadata standards.
- Support project design, infrastructure layouts, and construction planning.
- Build automated workflows with FME, Python, and ArcPy.
- Collaborate with development, engineering, environment, planning, and project delivery teams.
Required Skills and Competencies
- A degree in GIS, Geospatial Science, Geomatics, or a related discipline is required.
- At least 5 years of experience in a GIS or geospatial role is required.
- Advanced ArcGIS Pro proficiency is required.
- ArcGIS Online experience, including web maps, dashboards, applications, and mobile workflows, is required.
- Experience with FME or similar ETL and data integration tools is required.
- Strong spatial analysis, data management, QA/QC, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills are required.
- The role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Highly Regarded Experience
- Renewable energy, infrastructure, engineering, utilities, or environmental sector experience is highly regarded.
- Knowledge of planning, environmental, cadastral, and land tenure datasets is highly regarded.
- LiDAR, aerial imagery, remote sensing, Python, ArcPy, and AutoCAD-related experience is highly regarded.
