Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months experience required.
  • A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
  • Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Under close supervision of higher-level technicians, geologists, or engineers, assist with geotechnical exploration and subsurface investigation activities.
  • Observe and document drilling operations, sample recovery, and subsurface conditions.
  • Classify and log soil and rock samples in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.
  • Collect, label, preserve, and transport samples for laboratory testing.
  • Prepare accurate field notes, boring logs, and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate field observations and findings to the Project Manager and discuss data accuracy before submittal.
  • Submit documentation and communicate results as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Assist with drilling site coordination, utility clearance verification, and field logistics as needed.
  • Maintain assigned equipment and field vehicles.
  • Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Perform pre-task planning prior to executing work and report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects and ensuring accurate and complete field documentation.
