Work as a Geotechnical Engineer on infrastructure projects through AFRY’s Design Center, collaborating with professionals in Sweden.
The team works on rock engineering for tunnels, underground stations, rock cuts, and other rock constructions.
Responsibilities
- Design and engineer rock constructions.
- Analyze rock mechanical investigations and report findings.
- Perform advanced geotechnical calculations and classify rocks using Q-system, RMR, and GSI.
- Prepare technical drawings and 3D models.
- Review calculations prepared by other consultants.
Required qualifications
- Degree in rock mechanics or geotechnical engineering including rock mechanics, or a geology degree including rock mechanics.
- At least 2 years of rock mechanics experience and ability to perform analytical and numerical analyses.
- Experience reviewing calculations prepared by other consultants.
- Knowledge of rock mechanics software such as RocScience suite, FLAC2D/3D, or UDEC.
- Good written and spoken English at CEFR level B1 or higher.
- Good working knowledge of relevant Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred qualifications
- CAD knowledge in parametric and/or direct modeling is positive.
- Knowledge of Trimble/Novapoint, MicroStation/OpenRoads, or Rhino/Grasshopper is appreciated.
- Competence in sheet piles, retaining walls, pile foundations, and earth reinforcements is appreciated.
