Job Summary
The General Practitioner (GP) with Emergency Experience is responsible for providing prompt, safe, and effective medical care to patients presenting to the Urgent Care / Emergency Unit.
The role involves initial assessment, stabilization, diagnosis, and management of acute medical conditions, minor trauma, and postoperative or procedure-related complications, with appropriate escalation to specialists when required.
Clinical Duties
- Perform rapid assessment and triage of patients presenting with emergency and urgent conditions.
- Diagnose and manage acute medical cases, minor trauma, and non-life-threatening emergencies.
- Provide initial stabilization of emergency cases and arrange timely referral or transfer when needed.
- Manage postoperative complications, wound issues, infections, pain, and minor bleeding cases.
- Perform minor procedures including suturing, wound dressing, abscess drainage, and basic airway support.
- Prescribe medications and request diagnostic investigations in accordance with hospital protocols.
Patient Safety & Quality of Care
- Ensure compliance with DHA regulations, hospital policies, and patient safety standards.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Follow infection control, emergency response, and medication safety guidelines.
- Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement activities.
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with emergency nurses, specialists, and on-call consultants, including plastic surgeons and anesthetists.
- Communicate clearly with patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up plans.
- Ensure proper handover and continuity of care during shift changes.
Administrative & Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in shift duties, including nights, weekends, and public holidays as scheduled.
- Support hospital accreditation requirements (e.g., JCI).
- Maintain valid licensure, certifications, and ongoing CME requirements.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 24 months
Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
