General Merchandise Department Manager

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma and one to three years of similar or related work experience.
• Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to physically perform medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds of force frequently, and 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
• Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
• Working Conditions:
• This position is exposed to dirt, noise, and equipment movement hazards on a daily basis. Has occasional exposure to electrical shock. This is a fast pace work environment.
• Equipment Used to Perform Job:
• Pallet jack, computer, two-wheeler, telephone, C.A.R.S. system, box cutter, and calculator.
• Financial Responsibility:
• Responsible for purchasing product for the department.
• Contacts:
• Has daily contact with suppliers/vendors, and the general public.
• Confidentiality:
• Has access to confidential information including pricing.
• The anticipated hourly starting wage for this position is $17.00 to $21.25 depending on experience.
