In 1929, Kahuku Medical Center opened its doors to care for local sugar plantation workers. Nearly a century later, we remain the same family-oriented medical center, dedicated to serving the North Shore. Working at KMC means joining an organization rooted in serving the underserved.

We are a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic. As the only hospital on the North Shore, KMC is the emergency safety net during a health crisis and the area's leading provider of primary care.

Our long-standing mission statement reads: "Friends and Family Taking Care of Friends and Family". This reflects the many community members on staff who often find themselves providing medical care for those they know and love, and for the patients who describe KMC as a medical hale, a place closer to a loved one's home than a hospital.
