Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced GL Accountant to manage and oversee the company’s general ledger activities.
The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and accounting standards.
This role requires close coordination with finance, billing, and operations teams to support the company’s overall financial performance and reporting accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank, intercompany, and balance sheet accounts
- Review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and company policies
- Support VAT return preparation and filing
- Monitor accounts receivable and payable balances and ensure proper recording
- Assist in revenue recognition and expense allocation processes
- Coordinate with billing and invoicing teams to ensure accurate financial data
- Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all accounting activities
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation
- Prepare financial reports, variance analysis, and management reports
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
- Identify and implement process improvements in accounting and reporting
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- **2–5 years of accounting experience** (UAE experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of general ledger functions and financial reporting
- Good understanding of UAE VAT compliance and filing
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar)
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
