Essential Functions
• The GED Instructor assesses each student's individual educational needs and is responsible for administering TABE test and other assessments as needed. • Teaches GED prep classes and documents student progress on a monthly basis. Creates weekly lesson plans. • The coordination of transition plans, reviewing IEP’s, and maintaining student attendance records. • Schedules students to take the GED exam at official Test Centers approved by the New York State Education Department • The GED Instructor collaborates with local high schools and the NYS Department of Education • Assist students with uploading documents for test accommodations on GED.com portal • Refers applicants to alternative GED programs if necessary.
Minimum Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s Degree • Minimum 1 year experience teaching and/or 2 years tutoring experience. • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
Schedule
- Monday - Thursday ( 9:00am-3:00pm) Thursdays Remote
