We are currently looking for a

Marketing Senior Specialist

to support

Frieze Abu Dhabi

on a

6-month freelance contract (July – December 2026).

Frieze Abu Dhabi is a new international art fair developed in partnership with Abu Dhabi’s leading cultural institutions, bringing Frieze’s curatorial approach and global reach to the UAE.

The fair will sit within a wider cultural ecosystem that includes museums, foundations, artists and galleries from across the region and internationally.

Role Overview

The Marketing Senior Specialist will play a key role in promoting Frieze Abu Dhabi to both local and international audiences, supporting ticketing revenue, fair attendance, brand visibility, and VIP communications.

The role will involve developing and executing evidence-based marketing campaigns, producing bilingual content, managing agency deliverables, coordinating partnerships, and supporting campaign reporting and optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on evidence-based marketing campaigns that deliver against ticketing revenue and brand equity targets – including identifying audiences, and devising media plans to include paid social media, Out of Home, media partnerships, email and inbound marketing.
  • Draft newsletters and web copy in dual language (Arabic and English) aimed at both VIP and general audiences, including copywriting, building campaigns and managing data using the available Email Service Provider (ESP) and Content Management System (CMS).
  • Liaise with our ticketing partners on ticketing set ups.
  • Devise and implement a comprehensive plan for community engagement and the distribution of complimentary tickets to local target groups.
  • Implement the Frieze content strategy by sharing guidance with creative and social media agencies to produce inspiring creative and content that promotes Frieze Abu Dhabi globally and engages with relevant audiences.
  • Work with the Frieze Marketing Director and relevant departments across the MARI family in the development of audience research and insights.
  • Project manage the delivery of all relevant creative for campaigns, working closely with an external creative agency and teams across the organisation.
  • Work on the development and delivery of partnerships (tourist bodies, media partners, promotional partners, other arts organisations) for the benefit of Frieze Abu Dhabi and its visitors.
  • Ensure targets are met by monitoring effectiveness during campaigns and evaluate success by producing post-campaign reports and sharing learnings with key stakeholders.
  • Liaise with Frieze’s Partnerships and Ad Sales teams on sponsorship and partner commitments.
  • Work closely with colleagues in Membership, Digital, Press, Branded Content and Fairs to maximise the quality of experience, data capture and revenue across all relevant touchpoints.
  • Manage the Marketing budget, following organisational procedures, monitoring expenditure and obtaining value for money.
  • Manage localisation services for our marketing activity in Abu Dhabi.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Media Relations, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 – 6 years of relevant marketing experience
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English
  • Copywriting experience in both Arabic and English.
  • Experience in Email Marketing (i.e. creating campaigns in Mailchimp or other ESPs) and managing website content (using any CMS).
  • Good understanding of project management applied to the production of marketing collateral (i.e. digital advertising assets, onsite branding).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including negotiation skills, and the ability to achieve consensus among a number of different teams, and to gain senior agreement for marketing recommendations.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with other organisations - sponsors, media owners, promotional partners, tourist bodies, etc.
  • Excellent organisational skills, especially the ability to prioritise workload and to work flexibly.
  • The ability to work as part of a team as well as to initiate and develop own projects.
  • Computer literate and numerate, with the ability to manage budgets.
  • Experience of managing agencies, designers and suppliers.
  • Experience in planning and implementing multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital marketing channel (i.e. paid social media campaigns).
  • An interest in art is highly desirable.
