French Communication Part Time Faculty

Canadian University Dubai invites applications for a **part-time faculty position in French** within the General Education and Languages Department for the **Fall Semester 2026–27** .

The Department seeks a qualified and student-centred academic with strong teaching capability, experience in language instruction, and the ability to contribute to the delivery of high-quality general education and language courses.

The successful candidate will teach **Practical French Communication course** offered as part of the University’s General Education and Languages provision.

The role requires an engaging and practical approach to language teaching, with a focus on student participation, communicative competence, cultural awareness, and effective learning outcomes.

The appointed candidate will be expected to support course delivery, assessment, student feedback, and the continuous improvement of French language teaching at the University.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

Teach part-time French language courses at undergraduate level.

Prepare and deliver engaging lessons that support language acquisition and student confidence.

Develop and use appropriate teaching materials, activities, and assessments.

Assess student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.

Support student learning through consultation, guidance, and academic support.

Contribute to course coordination, where required.

Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.

Ensure that course delivery aligns with approved syllabi, learning outcomes, and university standards.

Contribute to a collegial, inclusive, and professionally engaged teaching environment.

A Master’s degree or PhD in French, French Studies, Applied Linguistics, Language Education, Translation, Modern Languages, or a closely related field.

Native or near-native proficiency in French.

Excellent communication skills in English.

Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.

Commitment to student-centred teaching and continuous improvement.

A PhD in a relevant field.

Previous teaching experience in higher education.
