The Freight and Customs Clearance Officer is responsible for coordinating the efficient movement of goods across international borders.
This includes managing import/export documentation, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, liaising with freight forwarders and government authorities, and monitoring the status of shipments to ensure timely delivery.
The role requires strong attention to detail, regulatory knowledge, and effective communication with both internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit import and export documentation.
- Coordinate with customs agents, freight forwarders, and shipping lines.
- Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely clearance and delivery.
- Verify HS codes, duties, taxes, and compliance with customs regulations.
- Resolve shipment delays, discrepancies, and documentation issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments and customs documents.
- Communicate shipment status to internal teams and external partners.
