Fraud Authorization Specialist

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage card authorization systems to detect and prevent fraudulent transactions.
• Analyze suspicious transaction patterns and take appropriate actions to mitigate fraud risks.
• Configure and maintain fraud rules, parameters, and authorization strategies within fraud management systems.
• Investigate fraud alerts, escalations, chargebacks, and disputed transactions.
• Collaborate with business, operations, risk, compliance, and technology teams to enhance fraud prevention controls and strategies.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations, card scheme requirements, and internal risk policies.
• Review fraud trends, emerging threats, and recommend process improvements.
• Support fraud strategy development for card issuing and acquiring portfolios.
• Participate in system upgrades, testing activities, and implementation of fraud prevention solutions.
• Prepare fraud reports, dashboards, and management presentations highlighting key risk indicators and fraud performance metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in fraud risk management, authorization, card operations, or payment security within the banking sector.
• Strong knowledge of Mastercard authorization processes, fraud monitoring tools, and card transaction flows.
• Experience in card issuing, acquiring, payment operations, and transaction risk management.
• Familiarity with chargebacks, disputes, fraud investigations, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify fraud patterns and emerging risks.
• Experience working with fraud management systems and authorization platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Mastercard fraud products and monitoring solutions.
• Knowledge of Visa fraud management processes.
• Professional certifications in fraud prevention, risk management, or payment security.
• Experience supporting large-scale banking and payment transformation initiatives.
