Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fragrance Evaluator to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fragrance evaluation, formulation, and quality control across fine, niche, oriental, and Arabic fragrances, including Bakhoor, and Oud.

This role combines technical expertise with creativity to support product development, innovation, and market-aligned fragrance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily olfactive evaluations of fragrances for internal projects, private label clients, and new product launches.
  • Develop and refine traditional Arabic products (e.g., Bakhoor, Oud Ma’amoul) while integrating contemporary consumer preferences.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for quality control, regulatory compliance, and fragrance tracking (FQQC, COA, MSDS).
  • Perform detailed fragrance batch analysis, pre-production testing, and QC audits to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Monitor regional and global fragrance trends, competitor launches, and top sellers; maintain a trend library relevant to GCC/MENA markets Europe, and North America.
  • Guide performance testing across substrates (skin, blotter, fabric) under UAE-relevant climate conditions.
  • Assess raw material quality, substitution risks, and stability; collaborate with compounding and QC teams to ensure batch consistency.
  • Oversee controlled testing protocols (blind panels, wear tests, climate-relevant tests) and synthesize results for decision-making.
  • Provide structured, actionable feedback on composition, balance, performance, and differentiation.
  • Develop and maintain detailed olfactive benchmarks and sensory standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Fragrance & Flavor Technology, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in fragrance evaluation within a perfume house or brand with multiple market launches.
  • Proven expertise in fine fragrance.
  • Advanced sensory skills: calibrated nose, strong descriptor vocabulary, and ability to deconstruct blends.
  • Solid knowledge of IFRA guidelines, EU/UAE/GCC regulatory frameworks, and stability/performance testing methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of fine, niche, oriental, and Arabic fragrances.
  • Proficiency in ISO standards, and EQM compliance.
