Forward Deployed Engineer

Neural Ledger LLC-FZ is a UAE-based AI finance technology company building Kaizen by Neural Ledger, an AI-assisted accounting operations and finance automation platform for accounting firms and enterprise finance teams.

Kaizen is offered in three formats:

· Kaizen SaaS for Accounting Firms: a multi-tenant, subscription-based platform for accounting firms to manage client bookkeeping, document ingestion, review, reconciliation, reporting, and audit trails.

· Custom Kaizen for Accounting Firms: a tailored implementation for accounting firms with specific workflows, document types, reporting formats, integrations, controls, or deployment requirements.

· Enterprise Kaizen: a custom solution for larger enterprise customers requiring bespoke workflows, ERP integrations, analytics, automations, security controls, and cloud or on-premise deployment support.

We are expanding across the UAE and MENA region and need a Forward Deployed Engineer who can work directly with customers, domain experts, the CTO, and the core engineering team to convert client requirements into deployed, working solutions.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be the technical bridge between Kaizen, our customers, and our internal product and engineering teams.

You will support Kaizen SaaS deployments for accounting firms, develop Custom Kaizen solutions for accounting firms, and help deliver Enterprise Kaizen implementations for larger customers.

You will be paired with a domain expert who will help translate accounting, tax, finance, and client workflow requirements into clear functional expectations.

will be to convert those requirements into configured, integrated, tested, and deployable solutions.

You will work closely with the CTO on cloud, client-cloud, or on-premise deployments, including environment setup, integration design, security considerations, troubleshooting, and release coordination.

Full-stack ability is preferred, because the role may require backend debugging, frontend adjustments, database queries, deployment fixes, and client-facing training in the same implementation cycle.

· Lead or support end-to-end technical onboarding for accounting firms and enterprise customers, including environment provisioning, initial user setup, configuration, and deployment validation.

· Deploy Kaizen SaaS for accounting firms, including tenant setup, user roles, document ingestion workflows, reconciliation flows, reporting workflows, audit trail settings, and customer-specific configuration.

· Develop and implement Custom Kaizen solutions for accounting firms based on specific requirements, including custom reports, document workflows, review logic, client onboarding flows, and export requirements.

· Support Enterprise Kaizen implementations for larger customers, including bespoke workflow development, ERP integration support, management reporting, approval flows, process automation, and deployment readiness.

· Create and maintain customer-specific runbooks, configuration notes, deployment documentation, and handover packs.

· Work closely with the domain expert to understand accounting, tax, compliance, reporting, and operational requirements from customer discussions.

· Translate domain requirements into technical solution requirements, user stories, configuration tasks, integration needs, and implementation plans.

· Identify gaps between standard Kaizen capabilities and customer-specific needs, then propose practical solution options with the domain expert and CTO.

· Document assumptions, dependencies, exclusions, and client responsibilities clearly during implementations.

· Read, debug, and extend backend services where required, especially APIs, document workflows, transaction processing, report generation, and integration logic.

· Troubleshoot and adjust frontend workflows, forms, dashboards, authentication flows, API wiring, and client-facing screens where required.

· Write SQL queries, custom export scripts, validation checks, and implementation utilities for customer-specific reporting, audit, migration, or troubleshooting needs.

· Support integration with accounting systems, ERPs, document storage, email services, AI extraction tools, and reporting layers.

· Reproduce implementation issues locally or in staging, document them clearly, and coordinate fixes with the CTO and engineering team.

· Work with the CTO to deploy Kaizen on cloud, customer cloud, or on-premise environments depending on the customer requirement.

· Support Docker-based deployments, database setup, object storage configuration, email delivery configuration, background workers, migrations, environment variables, and deployment monitoring.

· Assist with AWS or equivalent cloud deployment tasks, including compute, database, storage, networking, backups, security groups, and access control configuration.

· Support on-premise or client-cloud deployments with attention to security, data isolation, access control, backup, auditability, and customer IT requirements.

· Run migrations and deployment updates safely, validate schema integrity, and support release coordination for customer environments.

· Act as the escalation point for complex customer issues, including failed document extraction, VAT treatment issues, reconciliation mismatches, report variances, access control issues, and deployment failures.

· Investigate data, workflow, and configuration issues using logs, database queries, customer inputs, and application behavior.

· Capture structured customer feedback and translate it into product requirements, GitHub issues, implementation notes, or enhancement requests.

· Identify recurring customer issues that indicate product gaps, UI friction, workflow improvements, or training needs.

· After deployment, provide customer training together with the domain expert, ensuring users understand the solution, workflow, controls, and operational responsibilities.

· Train accounting firm staff, finance teams, administrators, and super-users on document ingestion, review, reconciliation, approvals, reporting, exports, exception handling, and audit trail usage.

· Prepare simple training materials, workflow guides, FAQs, and post-go-live support notes for each customer where required.

· Ensure smooth transition from implementation to ongoing support by documenting known issues, pending items, user responsibilities, and escalation paths.

· Python and FastAPI: ability to read, debug, and extend REST API code in a production SaaS or enterprise application.

· Frontend development: React, TypeScript, or similar modern frontend experience, with ability to troubleshoot UI flows, API clients, forms, and dashboard behavior.

· PostgreSQL or equivalent relational database experience, with strong SQL skills for querying, reporting, debugging, validation, and migration support.

· Docker and deployment experience, including multi-service stacks, environment variables, logs, networks, volumes, and worker processes.

· Cloud deployment exposure, preferably AWS, Azure, or similar, covering compute, managed databases, object storage, networking, backups, and access control.

· Experience supporting production deployments, staging releases, customer-specific environments, and implementation troubleshooting.

· Git/GitHub discipline, including branching, pull requests, issue documentation, release coordination, and collaboration with engineering teams.

· Strong willingness to understand accounting firm workflows, SME accounting operations, enterprise finance processes, and customer-specific finance requirements.

· Familiarity with UAE VAT, basic corporate tax concepts, double-entry bookkeeping, journals, ledgers, trial balances, reconciliations, and financial statements is preferred.

· Ability to work with a domain expert and convert accounting or finance requirements into functional and technical implementation tasks.

· Experience with accounting firms, audit practices, ERP systems, finance teams, or SME accounting workflows is a strong advantage.

· Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical accountants and accounting concepts to engineers.

· Comfortable engaging with partners, CFOs, finance managers, accounting teams, customer IT teams, and internal engineering stakeholders.

· Able to run implementation workshops, training sessions, discovery discussions, issue reviews, and deployment handovers.

· Self-starter who can work in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with limited supervision.

· Willingness to travel across the UAE and MENA region for client deployments, workshops, and post-go-live support as the company scales.

· Prior experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Implementation Engineer, Full-Stack Engineer, Technical Consultant, or Customer Engineer.

· Experience with ERP, accounting, or finance platforms such as Odoo, ERPNext, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.

· Experience with AI-assisted document extraction, OCR, LLM workflows, RAG, prompt-based automation, or finance automation products.

· Exposure to Azure OpenAI, OpenAI APIs, Azure Document Intelligence, AWS AI services, or similar AI infrastructure.

· Experience with automated testing tools such as Playwright, pytest, Vitest, or similar frameworks.

· Arabic language skills or experience with RTL/localization engineering.

· Basic understanding of regional tax regimes beyond the UAE, such as Saudi ZATCA or other GCC VAT regimes.

· Experience with nginx, secure static bundle deployment, background job queues, retry logic, and idempotent task design.

· Days 1-30: Complete internal onboarding on Kaizen architecture, product formats, deployment model, customer workflows, and core accounting use cases.

Deploy a local stack independently and shadow customer onboarding or discovery calls with the domain expert.

· Days 31-60: Lead or co-lead an accounting firm deployment, resolve implementation issues end to end, contribute to a deployment playbook, and convert at least one customer requirement into a working configuration or product enhancement.

· Days 61-90: Own the technical relationship for selected Kaizen customers, support at least one Custom Kaizen or Enterprise Kaizen workstream, deliver customer training with the domain expert, and document product improvement opportunities based on live customer patterns.

Primary base: UAE, preferably Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

Remote-first with regular travel to customer sites across the UAE and, over time, the wider MENA region.

· Work directly on the front lines of AI-powered accounting and finance transformation in the GCC.

· Build solutions that are deployed with real customers, not only internal prototypes.

· Gain exposure to SaaS, custom implementation, enterprise deployment, AI automation, finance workflows, and customer-facing product development.

· Work closely with the founding team, domain experts, CTO, and customers in a high-impact role where implementation feedback directly shapes the product roadmap.

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED3,500.00 per month
