Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in natural sciences required
- Five years of laboratory experience required
- Five years of flow cytometry experience required
- Two years of experience operating a sorting flow cytometer required
Responsibilities
- Processes clinical and research samples, operates flow cytometers, and reports results
- Maintains, troubleshoots, and coordinates repairs for analyzers and sorting flow cytometers
- Coordinates instrument appointments and maintains the billing database
- Archives clinical and research data and reanalyzes archived data as needed
- Assists clinicians and researchers with data analysis for patient reports, manuscripts, and presentations
- Trains technologists to operate flow cytometers and conducts instrument demonstrations and tours
- Prepares, acquires, and analyzes specimens, including blood, bone marrow, exudates, and scrapings
- Reviews quality assurance and quality control documentation and performs assays according to departmental and College of American Pathologists standards
- Prepares and submits patient reports, archives data daily, and prepares documentation for inspections
- Maintains reagent and consumable inventory, tracks lot numbers and expiration dates, and performs quality control checks on reagents
