Job Description

  • A Carpenter serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members.
  • To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:
  • Knowledge of carpentry and building maintenance
  • A trade qualification (proof of qualification may be required) as a Carpenter
  • Positive attitude
  • Good communication skills
  • Committed to delivering a high level of customer service
  • Excellent grooming standards It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work independently or without close supervision and within established timeframes

Responsibilities

  • Here's what you'll do during a typical day
  • Repairs furniture and fittings as per instructions of the supervisor
  • Fabricates shelves, benches, doors, frames, picture hangings, stages, etc.
  • Able to prepare and polish furniture to an acceptable standard.
  • Operates machine tools such as saws, routers, planers, etc. Adhering strictly to the safety instructions.
  • Responds quickly to guest complaints ensuring courteous, professional service at all times.
  • To learn and carry out fire brigade duties when assigned.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the carpentry shop.
  • Responsible for care and maintenance of all tools which must be kept clean and secure at all times.
  • Maintains cleanliness of all work areas.
  • To complete the personal daily job record, time book accurately and keep ready for inspection.
  • Ensures a high standard of workmanship.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned and should be multi-tasking.
