About LemFi

LemFi is building a financial ecosystem for immigrants, including multi-currency accounts, payments, credit and remittances.

The company reports millions of users and more than $1 billion in monthly transactions across 30+ countries.

About the role

The FinCrime Product team builds and maintains systems that protect LemFi and customers from sanctions breaches, money laundering and fraud.

The Rules Modeller / FinCrime Analyst owns tuning, thresholds and risk-scoring logic, as well as evidence supporting those decisions.

The role works across Compliance, Investigations, Product and Engineering to reduce false positives while maintaining risk coverage across more than 21 countries.

What you'll build and own

  • Tune and maintain risk-scoring parameters, transaction-monitoring rules and screening thresholds; document changes with audit-ready evidence.
  • Analyse alert output and case feedback; test and implement threshold and logic changes, including periodic tuning cycles.
  • Translate financial-crime typologies into detection scenarios and rules, with rationale and corridor coverage assessments.
  • Tune sanctions, PEP and adverse-media name and entity matching, and maintain customer and transaction risk segmentation.
  • Produce management information and tuning reports on alert volumes, false positives, cases and SAR conversion.
  • Coordinate with Product, Engineering, Investigations, Compliance and the MLRO on system changes, feedback, policy and risk appetite.
  • Support internal audit, model validation and regulatory examinations with an evidence-backed change log.

Experience

  • Around 3–5 years in financial crime, including transaction monitoring, sanctions screening and/or fraud, at a bank, fintech, payments provider or PSP.
  • Hands-on experience configuring or tuning transaction-monitoring or screening systems, rules, scenarios, matching logic or thresholds.
  • Working knowledge of AML/CTF, sanctions, fraud typologies and regulatory expectations for monitoring and screening governance.
  • Able to interpret alert and transaction data, use spreadsheets, and use basic SQL or demonstrate an appetite to build that skill quickly.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills, with the ability to explain tuning decisions to auditors or examiners.
  • Clear communicator who can work across compliance, product and engineering.

Nice to have

  • Cross-border remittance, multi-corridor payments or multi-jurisdiction PSP experience is a plus.
  • Exposure to TM or screening vendors, familiarity with Python or analysis notebooks, and experience supporting audits or regulatory examinations are desirable.
