Qualifications

  • Position Requirements
  • Positions in this class typically require: fingering, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met

Responsibilities

  • Training and Experience (positions in this class require):
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field and four years of progressively responsible professional level accounting experience, supervisory experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • Licensing Requirements (positions in this class require): Some positions require:
  • Valid Driver's License in State of residency
  • Certification as a Financial Officer II (preferred but not required)
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (preferred but not required)
  • Knowledge (position requirements at entry):
  • Managerial principles
  • Budgetary principles
  • Applicable laws, rules, and regulations
  • Automated financial systems
  • Financial reporting requirements
  • Governmental accounting procedures, practices, and guidelines
  • Financial control practices and procedures
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Skills (position requirements at entry):
  • Supervising and evaluating employees
  • Prioritizing and assigning work
  • Operating computers and applicable software
  • Performing advanced mathematical calculations
  • Giving presentations
  • Applying laws, rules, and regulations
  • Analyzing and developing financial information and procedures
  • Analyzing and interpreting financial information
  • Analyzing, verifying, reconciling, and reporting financial transactions
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
