Financial Analyst I

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly financial management reports for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Analyze budget, forecast, and actual performance; identify operational drivers of variances.
• Prepare financial summaries and recommendations for departmental decision-making.
• Monitor expenditures against approved budgets and hospital accounting policies.
• Develop financial models and conduct financial and operational analyses for Nursing leadership.
• Prepare information for monthly meetings with Nurse Directors, Managers, and other leaders.
• Assist with productivity, staffing, capital, and other financial reporting initiatives.
• Collaborate on financial processes, policies, governance, and reporting; support special projects and ad hoc analyses.

Candidate profile

• The employer seeks a motivated, detail-oriented candidate with communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills are preferred; reporting and technical skills are expected to develop through experience and training.
• Experience with Adaptive Planning, Smart View, or other financial applications is helpful but not required.
• Candidates should be comfortable working with data, asking questions, learning processes, and collaborating with financial and operational partners.
• Interest in developing a career in healthcare finance is desired.
