Financial Accountant

**Reports To:** Finance & Business Support Manager/Director

• WHAT’S THE JOB?
• Under the general direction of the Director of Finance & Business Support, the Financial Accountant assists in managing the hotel’s accounting operations and financial controls.
• The role ensures accurate financial reporting, supports budgeting and forecasting activities, maintains accounting records, and ensures compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• **YOUR DAY-TO-DAY*** Prepare and record journal entries for daily and month-end transactions.
• Perform monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and distribute reports to management.
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare invoices and maintain accurate records for intercompany transactions and other charges.
• Monitor and control cash flow activities, including payments, deposits, and collections.
• Review and approve payment requests, petty cash, and employee advances when required.
• Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis reports.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost control.
• Ensure all accounting records are accurate and maintained according to company policies.
• Assist in audit preparation and provide supporting documentation when required.
• Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Support the Director of Finance in implementing financial strategies and procedures.
• Supervise accounting operations in the absence of senior finance team members when required.
• **WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU*** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum **4–6 years** of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or hotel industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounting systems and financial software.
• Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Good knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliation processes.
