Finance Controller – Dubai

About This Role

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Controller to oversee and manage all financial activities for our growing distribution company in Dubai . This senior role is responsible for financial planning, budgeting, reporting, internal controls, and compliance. The ideal candidate has a strong background in FMCG or distribution finance , excellent analytical skills, and proven leadership in managing finance teams and driving business performance.

Key Responsibilities: Financial Planning & Budgeting:

• Lead the annual budgeting process , forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
• Work closely with senior management to align financial plans with business strategy and expansion goals.
• Monitor budget variances , analyze gaps, and recommend corrective actions.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports , including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Provide detailed financial analysis to support business decisions, pricing strategies, and investment evaluations.
• Track KPIs and financial metrics for different departments, brands, and channels (retail, HoReCa, e-commerce, wholesale).

Internal Controls & Compliance:

• Ensure all financial operations comply with UAE regulations, IFRS standards, VAT laws , and company policies.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls and audit practices to safeguard assets and reduce financial risk.
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and tax filings .

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management:

• Manage cash flow, liquidity, and credit control to ensure operational stability and efficiency.
• Optimize inventory, payables, and receivables cycles in collaboration with supply chain and sales teams.
• Oversee bank relationships, facilities, and financing requirements .

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

• Supervise and develop the finance and accounting team , ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Collaborate with sales, procurement, operations, and executive leadership to support cross-functional projects and cost controls.
• Implement ERP systems and process improvements to enhance accuracy, reporting speed, and financial visibility.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or MBA is a plus).
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or CA) is required.
• 5–8 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the FMCG, food, or distribution sector .
• Strong knowledge of UAE financial regulations, tax (including VAT), and IFRS .
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Zoho Books, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English (Arabic is a plus).
