Finance Business Partner
to support our growing eCommerce team.
Job Purpose
Lead financial performance, unit economics, and
aggregator financial control
for the eCommerce business, ensuring accurate revenue recognition, timely collections, and full reconciliation across all online channels.
1. P&L Ownership & Financial Performance
- Own eCommerce P&L across:
- Own app
- Aggregators (Instashop, others)
- Marketplace / dark stores
- Track revenue, margins, commissions, and cost drivers
- Provide clear visibility on profitability and risks
2. Aggregator Financial Control (CRITICAL)
- Own end-to-end financial relationship with aggregators:
- Revenue validation
- Commission structures
- Fees and deductions
- Ensure correct application of:
- Commission rates
- Marketing contributions
- Delivery charges and adjustments
- Identify discrepancies and recover financial gaps
3. Reconciliation Management (HIGH PRIORITY)
- Lead daily / weekly / monthly reconciliation of:
- Orders vs aggregator reports
- Sales vs settlements
- Discounts, cancellations, refunds
- Investigate and resolve mismatches promptly
- Build structured reconciliation processes and controls
4. Collections & Cash Flow Control
- Track and ensure timely collections from aggregators
- Monitor settlement cycles and outstanding balances
- Escalate delays and follow up with partners proactively
- Maintain clear visibility on receivables and cash flow impact
5. Unit Economics & Business Modeling
- Build and maintain models for:
- Aggregator vs own channel profitability
- Commission impact on margins
- Order-level contribution margins
- Support decisions on:
- Channel mix
- Pricing
- Expansion strategy
6. Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Control
- Lead financial planning aligned with business growth
- Monitor and optimize:
- Delivery costs
- Marketing spend
- Operational expenses
- Ensure cost efficiency without slowing growth
7. Business Partnering
- Work closely with eCommerce, commercial, and operations teams
- Support negotiations with aggregators using financial insights
- Challenge assumptions and ensure financially sound decisions
Requirements
- 6–10 years experience in finance (eCommerce, retail, or FMCG preferred)
- Graduate pref. in Finance/Accounting discipline
- CA/ACCA/CPA is desirable
- Strong experience in:
- Reconciliation processes
- Receivables / collections management
- Revenue validation
- Experience dealing with aggregators / third-party platforms is a strong plus
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
- High attention to detail with strong analytical mindset
