Field Service Technician- Carthage TX
Role Overview
CherCo is seeking motivated individuals in Carthage, TX, and the surrounding area.
This position will be responsible for troubleshooting, routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on natural gas engines and compressors.
Caterpillar 3500 experience preferred.
This is not a rotation position.
You must live within one hour of the designated service area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: may include any or all of the following.
• Perform scheduled preventive and corrective field mechanical service on gas compression units.
• Always represent the Company professionally and provide outstanding customer service while performing all assigned tasks.
• Responsible for submitting accurate maintenance reports, expense reports, timesheets, and other necessary paperwork daily.
• Inventory control – manage the supply, storage, and accessibility of parts and tools to ensure adequate availability for work without excessive oversupply or shrinkage.
• Diagnose engine/compressor failures accurately and efficiently.
• Conduct timely rebuilds/overhauls of compressors, engines, and controls on gas compressor packages in the shop.
• Respond to recurring problems and emergency services, as needed.
• Help coordinate the setting of new units and conduct start-up testing.
• Other duties may include mechanical and electrical assignments related to natural gas compressor systems and associated equipment.

Education & Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3-5+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience with Murphy EICS, Centurion, and Altronic systems. Experience with Ariel, Gemini, Ajax, Caterpillar 3500, 379, 398, 399, and 3300 series engines and compressors
- Computer skills:
- Adequate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Applications.
- Certifications & Licenses:
- Valid Driver’s License.
